Bio

I am the mom of 3 amazing kids, and this is the greatest and most defining aspect of my life for the last 19 years. My older kids are twins and once they headed off to college, I finally felt like I could go back to school and finish my degree. I am in my second year at the extension school and having an amazing renaissance! My dear friend, Eleanor, and I have taken some classes together and we both agreed that this class would be something we both would really enjoy. 

I was born and spent the early part of my life in West Texas. We moved around a lot when I was young, and by 1st grade, my family had settled in Northern Virginia. I went back to Texas for college, but a new career opportunity presented itself and I left college after only two years of undergraduate study. I was “discovered” by an agent from Ford Models and I was off to New York City to give fashion modeling a shot. I spent the next 12 years modeling and acting, traveling the world. As a result of this career, I have been exposed to many cultures, beautiful locations, and had the opportunity to meet amazing people. In retrospect, I wish I had spent more time studying the photographers on set, I was fortunate to have worked with some of the most successful photographers in the fashion world. 

I have always been interested in the visual arts and find that I am happiest when I am busy creating something
